tony
I have been looking for a .223 for foxing from the 4x4, point and shoot to 250yds. A 1-12 twist would be ideal I guess but I have seen a Remmy Tactical 20" barrel in 1-9 twist.....What would be the Min and max weight of bullet heads I could use in this twist rate. Thanks, Tony. From experience - Both of my 223 - 8 twist Tikka Super varmints would shoot 40 grn Vmax with suprisingly good accuracy - (less than 1 MOA ) - which aint bad. So your 9 twist tube should be fine with 40 grn pills to about 70 grains. ATB Alan
Gunsgobang88
Hi Tony, 1:9" is usually good for 50-73gr in the .223 Rem. This obviously depends on the exact length of the bullet used but is a good guide, Alan
Jerry May
A friend with a Remington PSS with a 1-9 twist use to shoot Hornady 75 A Max really well and another mate shoots a CZ with the same twist, he has settled on the Nosler 40 grain BT. His CZ use to average about 0.75" at 100 yards but with a re-crown by Dasherman it now easily shoots under 0.50" Jerry.
