creakindoor
Hi all, although I haven’t posted for a while I have been shooting plenty of foxes. Twelve in October and my first November fox last night. It was a big old dog, but what made it special was that it was my furthest ever fox 255 yds. It was out in the middle of one of the few remaining stubble fields. It was also my second fox this week using my new Swarovski 6-18x50 AV, TDS4 reticle. Hope you like the pic. charly hunter
Well done pard, I have just got in from a pheasant shoot and talking to the local guys and I have seen the photos one guy on a rifle and one witht the lamp last week in one evening shot 27 foxes. That must have been awsome, hell I only ever take 10 rounds out with me when I go lamping on my own, guess I should start taking a few more. charly hunter
Good question Panther, I have a RX3 and I wish I never got rid of my Lica 900. With the RX3 I have put it on a tripod and I still can't get it to read 600 or more yards. Not impressed with it at all, I think I shall be getting my money back on it. So how do you find yours pard. How do ya like the Leupold range finder? 308Panther Rangefinder is great. Accurate out to several hundred yds, Easy to use & loads of features, most of which I have yet to try. Its the RX-III. The display....LCD or LED? How visible in lowlight? 308Panther
charly hunter
Panther, in low light it is hard to see, although there is a back light which is supposed to light up all the dissplay it is not at all clear. For the cost of it I am very disapointed, I am about to send mind back to Leupold.

How visible in lowlight? 308Panther You will find everything you need to know about this model here: http://www.leupold.com/hunting-and-shootin...er-rangefinder/ I use it only in daytime, mostly zeroing in and messing about, and pinging the occasional long shot like the other night. Guest 308Panther
You will find everything you need to know about this model here:http://www.leupold.com/hunting-and-shootin...er-rangefinder/ I use it only in daytime, mostly zeroing in and messing about, and pinging the occasional long shot like the other night. Thanks Creak... Already have the site in my favs as I use and like their scopes. I want to know actual used impressions of it,model and features...likes and dislikes. How fast it reads in lower temps...Cold,Damned Cold...Too Damned Cold. Everything works great on websites and in the store.... I want to know real field use. Reason is...Its between that and the Lieca 800/1200 I like the Lieca display...ease of use.It just dont get any simpler. Point and Click... No messin around. and you can see the numbers... I had a chance to play with my sis's Bushnel... (Ok,Smart as+es we are talkin about Range Finders, So get yer minds outta the gutter) And didnt care for it... Readout was slow in lower temps, hard to read even in daylight. Was curious to see if Leupold actually made a better one. 308Panther

Very good for dusky guesses when the eye can't judge anymore. Very quick. What's difficult is measuring a crow on a fence post on flat ground. Pinging the damn thing. Or on a mud flat. edi
creakindoor
Thanks Creak...I want to know real field use. 308Panther I do not use it in the Field, I have no need to, as most of my shots are taken at modest ranges 150yds and under. I have had the rangefinder about 4 months now and its been out of its box less than a dozen times. So I am afraid I can not really comment on field use.
