sussexsteve Posted August 7, 2011 Report Share Posted August 7, 2011 Chaps After reading the post on 5/8 thread I think someone here can help me. I bought a custom rifle secondhand. The guy I purchased it off told me the thread was 14x1. So when I get home tried my 30 cal northstar .. don't fit. Then tried the thread cap from the rifle onto my sako which fitted but slightly loose. So I'm assuming its slightly larger thread. I know I will call the gunsmith he should have it on record...wrong no records. He did say it maybe 9/16ths. So I really would like a pes moderator but they don't manufacture it in 9/16ths. The barrel is fluted so chopping back is a no go. Does anyone have any recommendations as to a good gunsmith who could resolve this problem for me? I'm in the south east but willing to travel to solve the problem. Apologies for the long post but I am getting frustrated. Atb Steve Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
