Using barometric pressure in ballistic programs

Yup, good stuff. Lindy (whose web pages those are) comes here on occasion.

 

I recommend always using station pressure. You can get any barometer/altimeter to give station pressure by setting the map altitude to zero.

ie always set your barometer to altitude zero.

...and input the pressure you then read as station pressure.

 

Several advantages; most tangible is that you never have to faff with a map or gps to find your altitude in order to get barometric (that the program is going to convert straight back to station anyway :rolleyes: ).

Brown Dog is right it does work , first thing i do before shooting is check station pressure
