Scotch_egg
As an altrnative to duracoat and ceracoat has any one used ionbond. I have seen it used in the states and it is highly rated as a very tough finish. The main advantage is it is so thin is doesn't affect tolerances. Gunsgobang88
Hi Scotch Egg, Ionbond is the proprietry name for PVD (particle vapour deposition) coating. There are different forms of this process that give various colours, hardness, wear and corrosion resistance. I have been PVD coating firearm components for a number of years with excellent results. There are restrictions on colour/finish combinations and on the maximum size of components to be treated. If you would like to discuss this further, my contact details are at www.alanwey.co.uk Alan
