Crows are very very intelligent, usually. Nobble one of a pair with a rifle and you might get the second within a few minutes if you have not been spotted but after that the survivor has gone. I had a pair on Sunday like that, hit the first hard, it flew off over some power wires with its mate with what looked like its head between its legs. Went round to the next field to find a single crow at about 150 yards, perhaps a bit more on some drilled barley. Tipped that over with a 20gr Vmax (17AH), sent the lab for it, she stopped en route and brought the first one back that was laying in a bit of dead ground. Hit low all its backend was hanging out, massive damage yet it flew 150 yards or so. A

Its far easier to shoot avian vermin from a 4x4 etc rather than waiting for it. I am setting my first Larsens tomorrow, I use a 17AH at the same time and nobble every one I can with it on the trap round. Had 175 a couple of years ago in a campaign running into Sept from March. Last year I had about 40 is a reduced campaign. You have got most of them by late April usually. That was one unlucky stoat !!, remarkable shot though. A

Have got maybe 50 to go at this year as I failed to nobble the incoming youngsters last August /Sept A
  4. I also have one, only downside was no warning of a flat battery. May sell mine when I move to rangefinder binos maybe next year. A
  5. I have shot a few with a .22LR, little perishers rarely stand still, I had one run up the lamp beam to me one night, he won't do that again. Very destructive on all ground game but a tunnel trap near water can be quite effective. A
