  2. As we all know, when it comes to reloading consistency is king. But what level of accuracy is good enough for you? How many decimal points are enough?!

When it comes to weights and measures what +/- or % figures are you working to on your micrometer or scales for the variables?

    Bullet weight/batches?

    Primer pocket sizing?

    Case weight/batches?

    Case length?

    Powder weight?

    Overall length?

  3. I'm thinking about a Wildcat Evolution for my 308 but was advised by them to get the Predator 12 as the Evolution wouldn't perform as well, or may deteriorate quicker, through heavy range use. I was told the Evo was more lightweight for stalking.

Has anyone had any experience of this?

I am told the Evolution has a 25mm internal diameter tube, so should contain my 20.8mm outside diameter barrel?

Or do I just look for a ASE Utra Jet-Z Compact again?

  4. The likes of Lilja offer charts showing which bullet weights are most appropriate for the twist rate of your barrel. But presumably bullet weights in the middle of this range are more accurate than bullet weights at the extremities? If so how much more accurate?

For example a 308 with 1 in 10 twist shows as being able to use bullet weights from 168gn to 200gn...so does that mean that a weight in the middle (circa 185gn) will be more accurate than those at the top (200gn) or bottom (168gn) of the range?

If so is this likely to be a measurable difference in grouping size?

  5. I'm using Reload Swiss RS50 for 308win loads. I'm thinking about trying at bullet weights, but the data RS provide is limited.

How do you safely work out the start and max load when no manufacturer data is available for the bullet weight your considering?

Average powder weights between the data of the bullets weights that is avaliable? See what others online use? Contact the manufacturer in case they have unpublished data?

    Thanks in advance

  6. After a lot of thinking I've decided to sell a load of gear, including my Sako Finnfire Varmint to fund our self build project.

A great little rifle, hard to find and excellent build quality. The barrel is ~18" and threaded making this a very accurate well balanced rifle. I regularly shoot rabbits with subs at 80 - 100 yards without any trouble. The rifle will come with it's SAK moderator, thread protector and two 5 round magazines. A sizeable quantity of ammunition is also negotiable.

    SOLD

I'm based near Nantwich but work throughout North and Mid Wales should you wish to meet up somewhere. RFD to RFD is also an option.

    Cheers,
    Oly
