When I was an apprentice for a Swiss company, I visited a machine tool works in Zurich and was in awe of the size of the tables and machine beds used to machine pillars, tables, the knee and many more parts of both horizontal and vertical milling machine's and CNC milling machines and lathe beds and gear cutters etc. I was even more surprised to find they were being machined on English Machine tools!
