  1. I started reloading my 6.5cm about 6 months ago . I had instruction and used Sierra 140g Hpbt . Must admit after ladder tests the groups were excellent . Made a mistake in thinking perhaps a different bullet would prove accuracy . So I tried Lapua , Barnes and Hornady 🥴 . To much to soon , lesson learned . However the Hornady ELD match were very accurate . Whereas I'm finding Sierra bullets difficult to source , it's not so with Hornady . I think I may try some ELD match in 308 and this time stick with it until I have conducted ladder and seating depth tests and chrono the results . It's what I should have done in the first place , we live and learn 😀
  2. Now that's a good idea , thank you 😀
  3. The 168 was designed for 300 mts I believe 😉 I intend to use them out to 600 yds and will look into 155 Palma or 175 for longer ranges . The problem with 168g appears to be the angle of the boat tail causing instability and hence becoming transonic around 1000yds ish.
  4. Well , change of plan . Couldn't buy 155g Sierra , my club shop is still waiting for a delivery 🥴 . Bought some 168g Sierra with Hogdon CFE223 ( again waiting for a delivery of n140 ) powder and CCIBR2 LRP . As stated I shoot from 100 to 600 with occasional outings to 1000 yards . Will be an interesting exercise 😀
  5. I have about 800 fired GGG brass cases in 308 . I plan to reload and have a reamer and a swager on order to remove the crimp . My Savage Ftr has a chamber of 2.262 . A GGG 308 has an CBTO of 2.190 , meaning a jump of .072. The cartridge has a col of 2.795 which is textbook spot on . Vihtavuori recommend 2.795 . I will use Sierra 155 hpbt and CCIBR2 large primers . I'm torn between n140 or n150 ? Sierra state n140 but Vihtavuori state n140 or n150 . I will probably try n150 as I already have some . The powder in the GGG is spherical and it weighed 42.5g . My plan is to replicate the GGG as near as possible , even though they use a different powder mix . As the GGG brass is slightly heavier than Lapua etc I will reduce the max load by 1.5 grains as the case capacity may be smaller . I normally start with a .010 jump but in this instance I was going to try and copy the GGG as much as possible , therefore textbook col . I shoot from 100 to 600 yds with occasional outings out to 1000 yds . The above is just quick overview 🥴 had anyone got any advice/ recommendations ?
  6. I would like to enter the Imperial in 2022 . Yes to see how I shoot , but also just for the experience I shoot a Savage Ftr in 308 and Bergara in an MDT stock in 6.5cm. The problem I seem to have is which discipline and which comps to enter . As many are spread over several days this compounds the problem . Without accomodation it means a round trip of almost 180 miles every day . I'm happy to keep it simple and leave the aggregates for the more comp experienced . Any recommendations / advice for an Imperial newcomer would be most welcome 😁 . A comp completed in one day perhaps ? I do shoot at Bisley with my club and alone or with friends . Generally 300 and 600 yds although I have shot at 1000 yds . I have only used my 308 at Bisley , the 6.5cm used at The Rifleman's Hambridge.
  7. Thanks . I'm going with RL15 😀
  8. Thanks Neil , after googling for hours I was beginning to lose the plot 😀 Its a Bergara B14 HMR , 26 in barrel in 6.5cm , 1-8 twist . The bullet is indeed Hornady ELD match 123g , 6.5cm . It would seem I have to purchase Hornady loading data for one bullet 🤔 Have Lapua and Starline brass .
  9. I have four powders . N150 , N160 , RS60 and Alliant R15 . I have used the N150 at 39.4g with Lapua 123g scenar . There appears to be only .007 between the CBTO of the two bullets . Can I use the N150 with the ELD ?
  10. I have a Bergara B14 , HMR 6.5cm. Can I remove the stock and replace with a Bergara BMP chassis style stock ? That's drop in , with no mods 😀
  11. Fits a 3 hole Savage stock with 3.4ins between front and rear bedding bolts . Comes with two adjustable rear bag riders ( different depths see pics ) and the original fixed rider. The pistol grip has had the raised piece sanded down . Cost 650.00 for stock and 190.00 for bag rider . So 840.00 total ( this year ) Sell at 590.00 posted. Can sell as separate items . Stock with fixed bag rider 450.00 Adjustable bag rider. 140.00.
  12. It has the EBC -7C Moa Ret in FFP . I purchased the scope in August , unmarked and hardly used . Reason for sale , I simply do not get on with FFP . 400.00 posted The mounts are Tier One 34mm. Again unmarked . The mounting aid slides under the scope to ease fitting , keeping the scope parallel . 165.00 posted Buy together , 550.00 .
  13. I purchased the scope on August , unmarked and hardly used . Reason for sale , I simply do not get on with FFP . 400.00 posted The scope is sold . The mounts are Tier One 34mm. Easy to fit using the supplied guide I had photos of the scope and mounts , but they seem to have disappeared ? Mounts 150.00 posted
  14. Is the Kestrel 1000 still for sale , no photo ?
  15. Mik at Dolphin replied today , good man . Looks positive , fingers crossed . 🙂 Thanks for replying .
  16. I have a Savage 12 Ftr Nra in .308 . The stock is adjustable and a reasonable fit . However I'm looking around to see if any off the shelf , " drop in " aluminum target stocks ( pistol grip ) are available ? Have sent out a few emails, waiting for replies . Lots of stocks for chassis mag ' rifles , haven't found one for single shot rifles . Any ideas ? 🙂
