With a cast 500gr boolit and 27gr Viht 120 my Handi Rifle kicks like a mule so I use that as a maximum. Approach this load with caution.

I find my Parker Hale likes cast boolits and it takes half the powder.

I just had a look - some interesting stuff on there.

Lovely rifle
Wish I had the money and the variation!

They're on hold at the moment until their range approval comes through

Hornady Custom Grade die set.
Sold as used but in reality new or nearly new.

I would probably start with a jacketed bullet load of Viht 140 - the starting load.
I did this with my 416 Rem Mag and it worked well.
The cast boolit strength is the limiting factor and quality of alloy is important (not just the hardness)

Goes without saying!

Yes please
PM on its' way

You are best putting your phone number in a pm NOT the forum!

I have some lube I have made for my pistol calibre boolits
Send me a pm and I will send you some.
You will need a heater if using a Lyman, Star or RCBS lubesizer

S1 I believe. Good luck getting a variation!

SOLD pending the usual
Thanks for looking

Carbon steel I believe (but might well be stainless). It's stained but no corrosion, bore is perfect.
Barrel length is 25 ½” 1 in 12 twist
Chamber dia. Is overall 1.158” for 2.4”
Knox form is 2.9” long and ends at 0.74” and then the barrel tapers to 0.60” at the end.

E R Shaw 30 calibre barrel for sale

On the powder side, 2400 would work with the 303 and 44 mag.
I think, not 100% so please check, around the 12-14 gr mark used to be a fairly popular load for 303 lead bullets.
My friend is using 18.5gr Viht 110 with a 200gr boolit (similar burning rate as 2400). I've been using 18gr of 2400 in my 30-06 and 8mm Mauser with heavy cast boolits.

Kipper,
The other die that is designed around cast bullets is the Lyman M die, this bells the mouth as per the Lee but also expands the whole fo the neck to give a more gentle grip on a cast bullet.
With jacketed bullets the amount of grip that is sometimes found by using a FL sizing die does not really matter re deforming the bullets - you just have a lot of tension. This can be too much for a cast bullet, hence the M die sizing the whole of the neck.
If you are going to use a gas check and hard cast then this might not be an issue - just something to have in the back of your mind if you have an accuracy problems.

This is the ONLY die I would recommend to expand the case mouth to the right size. Use one for a 303 not a 308 as the boolit should be around .316" diameter and tou do not want it swaged down when seating in the case.
