  1. For sale, lightly used and in very good condition. Very well made floor plate for Remington and clone short actions.
You’ll need a spring and follower as this is the floor plate only.
Matt stainless with a sako style release button outside the trigger bow.
Never a risk of a forgotten mag and nothing to snag when in the thick of undergrowth or accessing high seats.
Replaced rifle with one of Callum’s, which of course came already fitted with one 😁
    £200 posted to UK address.

  2. Vermin bullets are typically frangible, lead shatters/ vapourises through the carcass.
Hit a bunny at 4000fps and ‘picking up’ might be a challenge.
It’s not that a raptor feeds off a carcass that is lead contaminated and drops dead, the lead accumulates and they lose condition, die a slow death.
As a kid, seeing a buzzard was a rare sight. Thankfully that’s not the case now, all raptors are making a comeback - the red kite being a great, common sight locally.

  3. Thanks for the detailed thoughts @Scotch_egg - hope it’s a bit of a distraction to keep the boredom at bay! Heal up and get back at it soon.
22-284! I can imagine that will have a shortish barrel life. I’ve a 6.5-284 inbound and was thinking that would be hard enough on the barrel.
Mulling over your views, I think the cost side of things is certainly going to be one factor. Might even be worth having clone setup to another more expensive chambering I’ve got for cheaper practice!
A quick google and thinking shortening a 22-250 might be a bit boomy. Shorter barrelled treble or 223 might be the option then. Would likely give me options for copper in future too.
Narrowing it down a bit, at least to start window shopping and depending on what’s about, maybe talking to someone for a build.
    👍👍👍

  4. For vermin. Mulling over choices of 204 Ruger, 220 Swift, 20Tac, 22Creed, 223, 222, 22-250……..

If it’s a short (18 inch) and pointy thing. Unfussed about heavyish barrel contour. And a nice to have, but not essential would be 50gr bullet weight capable. 400m max but accurate enough for crows, fox etc (appreciate all will suffer drift)

Ideally in a rem700 short action footprint.

Whats the wisdom on chambering and barrel twist?

  5. Varberger 7x57 in good condition, barrel deep blued, stock shows use but overall very good condition. Pillar bedded. Blued steel trigger guard. Comfortably shoots under an inch at 100m, 9 twist barrel shoots 100-162gr consistently well. Threaded 1/2”UNF With thread protector. Sportier weight. Pic/weaver bases for your choice of rings. Ebony forend. Trigger breaks nice and crisp. This is a strong modern action that can be safely loaded to modern pressures.
Complete with .30 Atec Maxim moderator in very good condition.
I have a very clean Schmidt Bender 8x56 30mm tube with rings that can be supplied if a complete package is required.

    (scope/ rings/ sling/ bipod not included)
£295 including RFD fees at my end. £500 with S&B scope.

  7. Remington 700 action trued and fettled by Neil, and a new M40 profile border cut rifled stainless and Matt blasted 24” 8 twist barrel fitted. Threaded for mod with ‘invisible’ cap.

From Neil’s description when I bought (July 2020)
Got a trued Remington with Tier One rail, big knob and new recoil lug fitted with a new proof only Border cut rifled 8T M40 profile. Screwcut M18x1mm with hidden thread protector.
24” barrel, 20moa rail, black action, barrel is fine grained stainless at moment but could bead blast it if you want the shine off it.
    (he blasted it)

Will come with the rail, thread protector and Remington trigger. Can also come with ASE mod if required.
Way more accurate than me. Had 120 rounds through it, I’ve had since July 2020 and hasn’t been out enough!
£700 for barrelled action, rail and trigger and I’ll pay RFD fees my end if not face to face. Mod will be £200 sold with barrelled action and it was new when put on the rifle.

If buyer wants, there is a Rifle Basix L3K on the rifle and not included in the above price. I can sell this for an additional agreed amount if required. It’s a top safety, 2-6 ounce adjustable pull weight, currently set 4 ounce.

    Advertised elsewhere too.
