  1. I have a lovely Sako Quad Synthetic for sale. This comes with .17HMR and Mach2 barrels.

This rifle has the black synthetic stock and the Sako key for changing barrels and currently sits with the Mach2 barrel fitted.
It comes with a 5rnd Mach2 magazine and both 5 and 9rnd mags for the HMR.
The barrels are threaded ½UNF and colour coded to the cartridge size and magazines.
You can also find .22LR and .22WMR barrels will fit as well and the magazines are compatible (17HMR/22WMR and 17Mach2/22LR).

You can have the rifle with either .17 barrel for £300 and if you want the other barrel as well its an extra £100. Barrel on it's own is £150 but I'd like to sell the rifle first to give any potential buyer the most options.

I also have ammo for both size barrels available separately if you want it.

i was also told that units that have been bought in the US will not be warranted in the UK 🙄

Even the ones bought before the ban on selling them?

I wonder if this is because of the frequencies or power limits used by Garmin and allowed in the US not being OK over here. Much like Labradar chrono that had a similar issue with crossover of frequencies, or something like that.

    Hi folks,

Are many people buying 5.56 ex-military ammo for plinking?? And can you buy the Milsurp in .223 Rem pressure too??

Or the 7.62mm NATO, and does it come in Milsurp .308 Win?

Any info of where I can buy a few hundred rounds, Please?

    Many thanks.

    Chaz.

308win is potentially the higher pressure of the two cartridges. 7.62NATO should be fine in any 308WIN rifle.

  4. 1 Your open ticket means you make the decision. If it goes wrong it is you that will need to answer the tricky questions.

2 If the larger calibres are also added as part of the Open Ticket then the FEO will not need to look at the land (see above).

3 Perhaps speak to your FEO. However part of having an open FAC is that you make that call, it is not for someone else to do it for you. Even if it was cleared by the police it would still require you to make the determination that the shot is safe or not and it would still fall on your shoulders if something untoward happens in either case.

  5. North London Rifle Club.

Nice bar and dining room with lots of wood panels (and cocktails if you're staying over or not shooting) and a verandah if the weather is nice.
Jeremy is very welcoming. Not sure if they serve food all week in the off season though.

But the CoP says manufacturer limits or using your knowledge for pressure signs (paraphased)

Onus is on us if anything happens

You missed off the "or using your knowledge" bit from your post originally.
The form you sign states you have read and understood the CoP and will abide by it. The CoP can and no doubt will change over time.

The onus is on us at all times, even with the other SCC categories.

     NRA training ...

Who trained them? What makes the NRA more reliable to offer training courses than you or me?

The course providers will be self certifying that they are the authority on the course content.

Let us know how it was, always looking for alternatives at Bisley.

What's wrong with my recommendation? 😜

Visited and had a meal (both lunchtime and evening) on at least 6 occasions since the start of this year's Imperial, always had a good meal and felt very welcome.

  9. Firearms security is the same as if you were in a hotel of guest house -you must take reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorised access to your firearms.

    As to where to eat?

The surrounding area has many great restaurants, from Woking to North Camp and of every cuisine type you could want.

On camp the North London is doing great food at reasonable prices and cocktails too.🤪 A nice spot to sit out and have an after shoot drink.
The guy that runs the bar/restaurant is doing a great job at making it a more welcoming place to go and is worth a visit if only to support him and his efforts.

How does it work if the surface treatment removes them , is it a case of simply reapplying them on  / engraving to the original information.

Also is there any legislation they indicates where the information / serial number needs to be located ?

It is an offence to remove or alter proof marks so as to misrepresent the proof status of a barrel. Maybe hiding them under paint or losing them through blasting etc could be altering them.

The Proof Act states the marks of proof should be on the barrel as close to the receiver or breech end as possible. Then there's the new stamp the muzzle end malarkey, don't even go there.
