Out of the ashes it would appear, people are talking about a new uk based barrel maker (pendragon), no details as yet to performance

I hope this is not true, a sad loss to the UK if so
Appears to be, don't think the website is up to date, a few people are offering to fit the barrels cheaper as they don't think a warranty will be valid
-
Richards microfit and Boyds both do an inlet for it, SSS might also do one
-
I think theres a sect1 870 on the stalking directory

Had a couple of barrels threaded when I lived in Oxfordshire, always a high standard and usually a quick turn around, his Dad's an interesting chap to chat with as well

- My reminder was sent 6 months before expiry
- I put my medical form in immediately
- I posted my paperwork 14 weeks before expiry (as I always do)
- My medical form took 16 weeks to complete and was sent in 8 weeks before expiry
- I've just been sent a letter saying my certificates have been extended for 8 weeks
Did your firearms department tell you it would take 4 weeks or is that just what you've come to expect?
-
I'd agree with the above comment, 4x2 for the .308, 2x2 for the .224 varieties, cutting it in half is less time consuming

Is it pointing and the same point as the scope, maybe adjust the focus to open the beam up, perhaps try an illuminator with a different wavelength

As much as I like all of my arktis kit, for your needs I would recommend Paramo

Walther s/steel.....it'll last forever.

I have a walther on my tikka 595, very happy with the results it produces. Depending on your action, I believe you can get them as pre-fit

I stopped using Sassen button rifled barrels quite a while ago, they used to be £750.
I only use American match grade barrels now from either Bartlein, Brux or Krieger.
Any particular reason for the switch?

Dave Folwell (Bowtec rifles) is in Birtley, last one he did for me was £450, that was a lothar walther, not sure if he's still going though as he was on about retiring.
Alan Maunghan is Hexham (ish) think he's about the £650 mark for sassen button cut, friend of mine had a Tikka done by him and its a tack driver

Thanks for the reply, best of luck with the development, can you please update me when you settle on a load

I'm starting to see these mentioned quite a few times, can I ask how users find their performance please? My maing use would be live quarry but I also shoot target informally

Nope, https://www.silverstoneshootingcentre.co.uk/shop/membership-renewal/, that's the current costs - people will pay it and more if it fits them. Same with the £35/hour mentioned above - plenty of people will pay that and more if the circumstances are right and their wallet permits.
I stand corrected

Pretty sure silverstone scrapped that system very quickly as take up wasn't great.
The club I'm with in Northumberland gets 12 days on a military range (out to 600 but usually 100,200,300) for £115 all in
-
Similar set has folded in Northumberland, suggested gold silver bronze membership plan, which initially had to be silver membership at £1500 for the first year, and you were allowed ten visits a year so £150 for a days gong shooting
-
If you're after a stand alone unit, the Ziess PRF is very well made, and good glass and fov, I used one before switching to range finding bino's

Average of 200yds max 500yds paper targets
I'd be looking at slightly heavier target bullets, 69gr SMK or similar and heavier, but with your short barrel which I assume is 12" from your description I don't know which powder to suggest. Might be worth downloading gordons reloading tool and have a play with that

What do you intend to use the rifle for?
-
I've seen it done with the chrony type chrono's, basically the chrony was placed behind railway sleepers with the rods sticking up proud of the barricade, can't comment on the accuracy of it. The more shots the better the average i suppose
-
If its just for a spotter, do you really need it rattling around in a bino case, for my NV monocular I just use an elasticated bino harness, you can get them for about £5.00 on ebay, or make your own with bungee cord, its quite easy.

I just follow the manufacturers or builders advice.
