Can anyone give a quick idea for start loads please

N130

65grain SGK

its in a standard Tikka 1:8

Not sure on case lengths yet so book lengths will be good.

N130 as i use in in the triple2 and for the 40-50grain in the 223. would like to use with the 65gn. i don't need fast as its a muntjac/CWD rifle with the odd fox. so slow speeds are good.

thanks for the help guys

Using N133 Phil which is only slightly slower burning than N130, for a rough and ready comparison, I use 23.2gr N133 under a 60gr and switched to N140 for the heavier 69 as I found N133 a tad too fast burning and was achieving better accuracy using N140 (and now RS5) under the heavier bullets. The 69's accurcay load was 23.6gr N140. All seated to mag length. You may find that N130 might be on the cusp with a 65gr. If so, I have some N140 here that you'd be welcome to try.

Closest the vihtavuori website has is for 60gr bullet: 20.5gr start 23.1gr max

Sierra data is showing data for 63gr bullet as 22.2gr max and 69gr bullet as 20.5gr!

Quickload is showing 23gr for 55kpsi using my water capacity (warmish but normally brass life is still good) with 3000fps in a 24" barrel and 2900fps if you have the 20". 100% burn either way

I'd probably start at 20.5gr maybe 21gr or so...

Thanks for that.

Isort of worked on the same idea. I ended up loading from 19.5 to 22gn. I haven't had time to get out to test but with luck I might be able to Sunday. I'll reply back if they work.

Remmy 700 1:9 Twist.

N130 would not group, N133 was OK, but N140 suits this bullet in my rifle.

SGK 1395 (65Grn) 25Grn N140, Col 2.300.

Stunningly accurate for a soft point and will produce 0.5MOA out to 400Yds when I do my bit.

Be careful as I have had these pass clean through chest and shoulder shot munties @ 200yds.

Work up loads carefully.
