Light weight African hunter from Brock & Norris

The client is a professional cull hunter who spends most of the hunting season in Africa.

The request from the client was for a rugged, reliable, lightweight hunting gun.

That will be used every day, taking between 60-70 plains game per day, for the international meat market.

 

 

The rifle consistently shoots tiny groups with the average being 0.294

 

 

 

 

 

Spec for the rifle as follows:-

 

Action:- Tikka T3

Calibre:- .243

Barrel:- 24 inch light weight hunter (Border Barrels) screw cut with invisible thread protector.

Stock:- PSE Carbon fibre (fully bedded)

Moderator:- A-Tech

The load for the rifle was:-

Bullet:- 100gr Sierra Gameking (1560)

Case:- Remington

Powder:- Accurate 4350

Primmer:- Federal 210

Total weight of the gun including scope, moderator and bipod = 8 lb 10oz

 

All testing was done a 100yds off a bipod.

I was lucky to handle this rifle the other day whilst having some work done on mine, very impressive indeed, lovely trigger job, very light weight to handle but still can't get over the invisible end cap...a sight to behold. Very good Mike and Rob at there new premises will definitely be having more work done and think it be now time to save up for a full custom build.

Very practical total weight for the intended application. I have two of Edi's stocks and am very happy with them.
