Anyone selling a cheap spotting scope??

I'm after a spotting scope. Like the Lidl cheapo... Just better...

Lidl's were £25 notes with the stand, and were not very good... Can anyone point me in the direction of one for around £50, or a bit more. It only needs to show me my hits from around 400 yards, may be 500 yards at a push....

What do the aficionados think of this one?? (Cut and paste like) https://www.rapidonline.com/national-geographic-90-57000-20-60x60-spotting-scope-49-0088

Cheers folks.

Chaz.

Do you mean you want to see the bullet holes at 400/500yds or the spotting discs a marker would put into them, because if you think you'll see the holes with a £70 spotting scope, I think you'll be disappointed.

Otherwise, I do have a spare scope I'm doing nothing with which might be in your price range...

I'm already disappointed .... :( Yes i was hoping to see the holes in the target. But having said that, Just seeing the hits on the steel plates, (5" and 12") sending them swinging would be enough for my mate, come "Spotter" to stop saying "Miss" when i can see it dancing around would be a bonus!.

With all due respect, I don't really want a scope, as i could sort that issue myself. It's a "proper" albeit cheap spotting scope.

Cheers.

Optics are one thing where good and cheap just don't go together. If you want cheap you end up with polymer or very low grade glass lenses and you'll never see detail at distance with them. Clarity costs money in both materials and construction.

The only way to get fairly decent clear magnification for a cheap price is to reduce the amount of lenses required and try an entry level reflecting telescope. Mirrors are easier to make well for less money.

Apologies for the late reply JSC. Looks nice. Let me do a bit of digging and i'll get back to you. If they're decent (for the money) i'll see if we can agree on a price. Cheers. PS. Unless you are in need of some V-Max ammo, which i seem to have bought too much of over the last 12 months. Also have an RCBS die set for a 260, and a Hawke LRF 400. It's been great but upgrading for more distance for when my 6.5 Creedmoor comes along...
