foxhunter
I sat for a couple of hours on a wheat stubble yesterday afternoon hoping for some woodies , there wasnt many about but I still fired a few cartridges . The bonus was I saw a covey of partridges slipping into some cover so I thought I would go and try and bag a couple for my tea. On approaching the cover a strong covey of around 15 burst into the air but a bit too far in front , a straggler got up on its own and tried to slip out left handed but I managed to bring it down. Partridge for tea tonite , cant remember the last time I shot our English partridge , I couldnt believe such a strong covey after all the Summer rain.
