londonhunter
I have now amassed a few rifles for varmint type prone shooting None of them is an Accuracy International. My question is simple Warmer weather is around the corner and mirage is always a problem What is the simplest way to attach an accuracy International type mirage band to a rifle without affecting accuracy ? I would like to transfer a mirage band between rifles fronm week to week. Any bright ideas ?
nemasis243
I dont know if its any help, I have seen a mirage deflector made from a blade from a set of Venetian blinds ,the blade is cut to the length you want and is attached using velcro, A small sqaure of velcro suck either end of the rifle barrel.this gives a gap between the blind and the barrel and because of its shape it deflects the mirage up either side of the tube. londonhunter
Thanks I saw saw a mirage Band made by Lilja. It cost $8 CAD which is about a fiver It was attached to a metal stud attached to the top of a muzzle brake. I am no gunsmith I am always wery of anything that touches my barrel. Since all my rifles have moderators can I attach or weld a stud to the back or front of a moderator in order to attach a mirage band ?
