update for scottish stalkers ref F&M

Recommended Posts

taken from another site as I thought it may be of interest

This is taken from guidance from SEERAD as of 6th August. This will only apply to Scotland, and may change, so best to check with the local Animal Health Office:

" Deer Stalking - Allowed in parties of up to 3 stalkers. Carcases can be moved to larder on same estate. Licensing of further movements imminent."

Slaughterhouses are currently applying for approval to operate in a Restricted Zone. I'm not sure what's happening with wild game plants, but I think they'd be quite far down the list - the priority is being given on a throughput basis, so the bigger plants are being dealt with first.

Again, this only applies in Scotland as far as I know, and may be liable to change, so best to check.
