nell
Hi guy's, i know its common practice to cover your muzzle with a piece of sticky tape to stop any rain snow or other debris fowling your rifle, but is it ok to cover your mod?????? njc110381
Can't see why not. It's not going to do much to the pressure in the mod as long as you don't go nuts and put half a roll of tape on it! I tape mine (Wildcat P8 on 6.5x55) and all seems fine. nell
Just wondered, not concerned about pressure, but as the bullet is in free flight having left the rifling and we know how a twig or grass can affect a light bullet at muzzle.... AHPP
Just wondered, not concerned about pressure, but as the bullet is in free flight having left the rifling and we know how a twig or grass can affect a light bullet at muzzle.... NELL I have been lead to believe that the tape is blown off by air pressure before the bullet gets close to it. Hope someone can confirm or deny this more expertly. moses
The bullet will never touch the tape, so it will have no effect on it. The pressure will bust the tape before the round gets there. I have taped a mod when stalking in scotland. ATB Moses
Guest bobjs
as moses says. we used to do it on, slr, gpmg in the ground mount role, 30mm rarden cannon,76mm scorpion light tank, and of course the good old chieftain tank, the larger cals had a cap on the end 9 same as tape really, but all get blown off. bob.
