Foxdropper
Evening lads, In a nutshell i have been offered a corker of a deactivated 1917 No3 SMLE lee enfield from a mate, who has to downsize, i am snatching his hand off to add it to my man cave ! The only issue i have.. is that he cant find the deactivated certificate he got on purchase back in 2013 ish (deactivated by the Birmingham proof house/stamped with their mark etc). I know legislation changed in 2019, and deacs now have to be registered with the home office.. but my questions are.. - does anyone have any experience with recent transfers of a deac ? And what was the process ? (I understand there is a form i need to send off but am struggling to find online) - If i am registering the deac rifle to myself with the home office, do i still need a deac certificate ? And if so, what is the best way to go about getting a replacement ? any advice would be appreciated lads, absolute corker of a display piece with original bayonet and sling etc !
