ejg223
Sold my howa to a friend. So until the license is transfered I thought I'd have another go. tried calling a fox but no show so I decided to sit around a bit. Was a lovely late afternoon. A few rabbits where hopping around, ranged at 240m so I dropped two of them. I was chuffed because the new conquest scope worked so well. Ten minutes later just about downwind of me and only about 60yds away a fox walks at the bottom of the valley. I was just sitting in the grass, no cover. Fox stopped and put up his nose, I bet he though oh shhi.. I will miss that howa Sorry for the mobile pictures. edi

6mmBR
A good way of finnishing up with a rifle. Hopefully you have taught it good habits and it will bring your mate as much luck. The next question is what are you replacing it with? Cheers Dave

ejg223
Thanks lads, plan is to replace with a remmy, just to start a new stock project. The howa stock production is running. Just not quite sure on caliber yet. I'm between 22-250 and 243. Need a foxing rifle and a deer rifle for my sons. Never had a 243. To develope a stock one must test the prototypes as much as possible meaning I wouldn't get to the howa much anyway. Pat I've got one rifle that'll stay, my old sako, in the family since 69 or 70 edi

ejg223
I once read that the old sako's where good, pre Garcia was mentioned. In the early seventies they tried to save production costs and skimmped a bit. It was mentioned that the bofers steel pre garcia made a better barrel. I had such a bofers barrel on my forester 308 but it was never any good. edi
