dog fox

Been after this dog fox for two weeks now. First saw it in the lamp but it was lamp shy, so I kept going most mornings on the estate and waited for it to break light. Finally saw it this morning about 150 yards away and in freezing fog! I shot it with 105g a-max, then shortly after I thought I'd try the A-max out on pigeons that were 120 yards away, to see what the ammo would do.

These are the first kills I've had with 6x47. Very happy!

The 6x47 lapua is a necked down 6.5x47. It has a small primer pocket. Speed wise it runs similar to a .243 but more accurately.

At the minute I am loading 39 grain of n160 with a 105 a-max. laying down off by-pod at 100 yards it is shooting in 0.300 consistently. It feeds better than my 6mmbr. I have not chronoed it yet so have not got a clue on speed.
