The 220 swift is back

I have just had my 220 swift back.She has had a new barrel put on her as I shot the old one out.I done some test loads and the new barrel shoots the same load as the old barrel.(42.5 grains H380,55 gr vmax).I went up to the farm to check the sights because I am out lamping to night.The first time in 2 weeks and I am starting to get cabin fever .I spotted a rabbit at 195 metres and had the first blood for the new barrel.I will see if I can get a fox to night and take some photos.

I always love the idea of a swift, I remebering when I first put in for a centrefire I asked for a 220, needless to say i was told I hadnt a chance, brilliant cartridge. Good luck on charlie, he wont know what hits him if you hit him with the swift!

I did not get out last night because one of the lads could not make it .I will have to see if we can get out towards the end of next week.

Good luck with the new barrel, I know the frustration waiting to try it out. Picking my .22-250 Ackley Improved tomorrow so I know that itchy feeling to get them christened is like.
