dogfox
Hi We finally got a chance to get out for a night lamping. There were four of us out last night. Three taking in turn to shoot and lamp and the other doing the driving. We were using my 220 swift with a 52 grain amax and Twanks 22.250 with a 50 grain vmax. We covered a lot of ground last night (approx 4000 acres of different farms in a large) from about 9.30 pm to 5.00 am and I am knackered today. We saw a lot of foxes which have started to pair up and we manage to get ten. One of the boys missed a fox and I missed one which was chasing a hare but I manage to get it with the second shot when it come back into the squeak. When the fox was dead on the ground the hare come back to the fox and started to sniff the dead fox and then lop off. We must get out agin soon as the farmers and keepers are starting to notice a few foxes about and are starting to moan about them.
