cooperman223 Posted June 22, 2007 Report Share Posted June 22, 2007 I got out for an evening stalking tonight, parked up in the woods, only got about 500yds when i spotted this lad walking away from me feeding as he went, i estimated 80-90yds, put the rifle on the long sticks and waited, and waited, and waited, eventually he gave me a broadside chance so i took the shot, the shot looked good, but he was off, i did`nt take the dog as i was planning an evening in the high seat i moved a couple of weeks back, after searching for about 15mins, i decided to go back to where the shot was taken from and start again, however on going back this is what i found, only about 15yds from where he was standing i must have walked right past him, at first i was going to give him another shot but after a min or so there was no sign of life so with rifle ready i walked over, to find him stone dead, his antler stuck on a broken branch.
