Stainless Steel vs Carbon Steel

I am just pondering getting ether a cheap factory rifle, be it a T3 or a Howa. On looking at the T3s I noticed they do not offer a 260 in stainless, only carbon steel. I am not too bothered as the gun could be 243. 260 or 308 as I just want a general purpose deer/range gun. 260 was my inital thoght though. It got me pondering because I usually buy stainless, but is it actually better than carbon or blued steel? Certainly all of my custom barrels were all stainless, but the Kreiger on my Weatherby was blued steel.
