Dac9976
Hi all I've acquired a 7x57r and I'm about to start some home loads for it. Can't really find much info on it, was wondering if the case length was the same as a standard 7x57 case? Cheers Danny.
gbal
The standard 7x57 Mauser cartridge case is 2.235" The European 7x57r is a rimmed version, essentially same dimensions, for double rifles (hence the rim for extraction. RWS are a good source of load data (RWS factory load is 123g @ 2955fps;139@2625;154@2690;177@ 2460.) Many sources gave data somewhat lighter loaded for the rimmed version in older doubles;so even more than usual, work up with care, though the same was true for the 7x57 in deference to older design rifles. You may have to consider regulation too,in a double-ie shooting to same POI-typically at 100y or m. gbal
