Laurie Posted April 20, 2015 Report Share Posted April 20, 2015 I always used N140 too in my 303 shooting days, but N150 should work OK since the 303 and 308 Win have very similar case capacities and I've used N150 in the latter frequently with good results with 155s to 185s. Assuming you're loading the 174 Hornady FMJ or Sierra MK, I'd start at 39-40gn and go up to 42gn, with maybe 43gn tops. I would expect good results and clean burning. The old 303 is very, very close to the American .30-40 'Krag' (the Yanks copied our design that's how!) apart from it using a true 30 cal bullet, and IMR-4350 / H4350 are almost default powders for 180s in the cartridge over there, propellants with a close burning rate to N150.
