Cheers jonathan.
Laurie
You usually find you need around a half grain extra to match the MV of the same combination in standard large primer brass. Loads may not perform well in very cold conditions, around 4 to 5-deg C and under depending on the powder. (That's why Lapua does not recommend the case for 'hunting' which may see use in very cold winter conditions.) Use an SR Magnum or BR primer. The objective of Palma brass is to reduce the MV spread / SD which in turn improves 'elevations' on the target at long ranges which it does. The standard US teams Palma load of new Sierra Palma MK #2156 and Varget sees a third reduction in ES on average. Remember, the case doesn't just have a small primer, but also the smaller flash-hole previously only found in 220 Russ / PPC, BRs, and '47L, 1.5mm nominal dia. v 2.0mm in every other variety of case. The standard size decap pin normally found in 308 Win dies is too large and may break or stick in the flash-hole, in some stronger varieties with an integral pin, it'll swage the flash-hole over-size, so you need smaller diameter pins.
