S&B 12-50x56 for targets and vermin

Is anyone using the above with fine sport dot on targets and long range vermin (crows magpies etc)?

 

I'd like the high mag so it can double as a spotter when shooting targets but I also use the rifle for vermin. I know the best option would be a spotting scope and keep my Zeiss but I don't want to heave to extra gear around and keep jumping up to see where shots have gone.

 

My concern is that the fine dot may get lost in a darker background like grass/soil

 

I know a few people like the NF np2dd ret and the fine sport looks very similar so thought it would be usable in both scenarios.

 

Any thoughts would be great.

I've just had a gander, and I think if I were in the market for such a scope I would go for the p3 2ffp,,the sport fein looks as you say,

er rather fine ;-)
