jay666d
Getting scope rings that are the right height. I'm looking into a decent set of rings or a one peice mount for my NightForce. Obviously I want the scope as low as possible, but I'm not sure how to calculate it. This was never a problem when buying cheaper mounts from my friendly local firearms dealer. I could either try them out, or take them back for a swap if they were no good! It would be good if there was some sort of standard. Like if the scope manufacturer could give you a measurement from the centre of axis to the lowest point. Obviously that would be the objective, and I suppose it's not hard to figure this measurement out, but it's the rings where we'd need the centre of axis measurement. Then all you'd need to do the math for is your scope base. Maybe I'm over-complicating the matter?
