jon
From an earlier post I got the info on the rail screw size. Thanks. Got a pack of 6x48 torx for NEW Tikka s/varmint. Front rail screw was loose and looked very like the sunshade screw I.e 3mm shank/thread, and it was graunched. Only 1 thread holding it in? ?? Other 3 screws were very firm but came out and were the same short type which meant approx 1 thread holding them in some type of thread locker. Rail held fast but a brass hammer tap. .a crack and it came away from a bed of bright green loctite ??? which was still tacky in places. In practical terms the pic rail was glued on with just the 2 metal pins providing any strength! !! Question... is this how Tikka fix their picatinny rails? and on refixing the rail with considerably longer torx screws are any of the loctite range suitable for a very thin bedding layer? Thanks for any info to help a technically challenged and slightly miffed holder of a bus pass.
