Formula for converting Yardage/drop into 1/4 moa clicks

Hi there.

Can some one out there tell me the formula for converting drop into 1/4 moa clicks for dialing in yardage.

 

Example. yds / drop inches / clicks

200 = 0 = 0clicks

225 = -1.58 = ?clicks

250 = -3.6 = ?clicks

275 = -6.08 = ?clicks

300 = -9.06 = ?clicks

325 = -12.54 = ?clicks

Divide your yards by 100, then divide the drop by the result and times the answer by 4 ( because its a 1/4 click scope).

 

So in your example,

 

300 yds = 9.06 inches

 

9.06 / 3 x 4 = 12.08

 

So this would be rounded to the nearest increment so the answer is 12 clicks.

 

Thus 325 would be 15.43 clicks rounded to 15 clicks

 

I don't work in clicks but use MOA, so the answer would be for me,

 

12.08 which is 4 MOA so I would just go to the number 4 on my scope.

 

Which ever works best for you really.
