Nicky
Hi to you all, How thick does a steel plate have to be? The size is 4"/4" square, and will be set at 200 and 300 yards , the rifle is in 223 calibre and shooting Vmax 40 and 69 scenar bullets, in prone position. The back stop is made up of sand, clay,
Swamp Donkey
If it's not hardox or similair, it'll get wrecked quickly. Hot rolled steel isn't too bad, but I've seen a 308 go through 1/2" of it at 100 yds ish. Buy yourself a proper ar500/400 plate, pay once. fivehole
Hi mate b h targets (see the adverts) are great but at that distance 10mm mild steel does work but will not last as long but is cheap to get hold off (try being a skip rat at an fabricators)
oaken
Until you have shot mild steel for yourself, there is no way to describe the energy of a centerfire round. Have fun, stay safe and send pictures of your bits of mild steel when they are riddled with holes! :-)
CZ Varminter
Bruce Hutton all the way very helpful had a few targets of him, well ordered four more two days ago! Order quarter past five arrived next day! That's the kind of service you need in this country. Top class and highly recommended. CZV

PESCA
This the effect that a .243 65grain Vmax had on 8mm mild steel at 180 yards. More than a little scary. This is the entry side. George
