jon
Some advice please ... I'm thinking of getting a T3 varminter but not familiar with their dovetail system. Seems to be a choice between a P/rail or one of the various tikka specific mounts, or, or ...? Had a bedded rail on a Howa but the T3 dovetail gives another option? Looking to mount a 10x42 as low as possible. Best option? thanks
Jagged 77
You could go with a set of Optilocks which go directly onto the T3's dovetail - there is a recoil stop on the front mount. Alternatively you can mount a piccatinny rail and use standard pic rings which is what I use. This gives you the option of adding some elevation should you so wish. Thirdeye Tactical and EGW Gunworks both supply rails.
5R-Twist
Hi Jon Ive just changed mine for a third eye picatinny rail so I can jump between my night vision and a scope. Spent a lot on the real t3 rings but now wish I went straight to picatinny rail. Gives you a lot of options. Rgds V
triple2
I would add a weaver/picatinny rail, gives you loads more options. ie changing day scopes to NV etc
lefthooker
I have EGW rails and Nightforce rings on all my rifles. Aswell as identical scopes and reticles. I like familiarity. And in the unlikely event of swapping scopes between rifles I know the scope will mount straight on without having to adjust rings.
MrCetrizine
I have Leupold standard bases and rings on mine. They are utterly rock solid.
