TACDAVE
All On the verge of starting to load for my Marlin and Taurus LBR. Anybody have a favourite load for shooting (lead) at 25 & 50 yrds which they could share. Many Thanks Dave
MrCetrizine
Before I switched to .38 for service/police pistol comps with my lever action I used to load my old 44 Mag Winchester with 10gr of Alliant Unique behind a gas checked 225gr semi wad cutter with great success. I briefly shot 240gr lead semis with 7gr but I preferred the gas checks to give me the option of shooting at 100m. Now I use 3.0gr of dirty old Bullseye. Don't put that in a 44 though. Jagged 77
240 gr lead with 7.7gr unique, however I've just switched to N320 which is supposed to be cleaner burning. If you want some real fun load up some jacketed 240's with a full load of h110.
Missed
For 30m I have a load of 200g SWC(RN) over 7g of Unique. For longer range 240g SWC cast with gas check over 16.6g of Vit 110. All lubed with felix lube. Currently experimenting with epoxy paint with moly powder mixed in as a jacket. Results been very good so far but more work still to be done.
