Night vision scope export?

Hi guys. does anyone know the legal situation regards sending a night vision weapon sight to the Republic of Ireland?

 

I had a search on "tinterweb" but it must be a secret or somesuch since google has been no help. So far the Irish ministries have passed me from pillar to post for no progress.

 

I've got a chap who's interested in a swap for a big Zeiss for my NV750 plus a bit of cash. Before I do this I'd like to know if a

door knock, early AM might ensue.

Thanks for that, it's most certainly very helpful.

 

Since the onus seems to be on me to get the proper export licence or I commit a criminal offence, I won't be sending anything outside the UK. It seems to be too much hassle with too much scope to drop myself in the brown stuff.

I'd want to do the deal face to face with the onus on him then to have correct paper work.

My thoughts exactly. The fallout if I get it wrong is not worth it.
