Danny
Hi all, I have a pair of bases that came with a Remington 700p that I recently purchased second hand. I was told by the previous owner that they were nightforce, they are unusual to me in that the picatinny slot has rounded bottoms rather than squared. My question is oies this mean I have to use dedicated nightforce mounts or are they designed so that regular picatinny scope mounts can be used? I have a set of warne qr mounts already so would rather not have to invest in another set of mounts. My fear is that as the bases are rounded there is less contact with a standard picatinny mount and so more chance for errors to occur, thanks! Atb Danny. Danny
It turns out after careful inspection that these bases are actually made by a company called Baer. After a bit of research it appears the slots are canted to ensure better accuracy at longer ranges. I can't see any threads on here for these bases being sold so I wondered if anyone knew what they kind of money they fetch second hand as I'm planning on selling them. Thanks. Atb, Danny.
