Redfox
Seen nothing much for the last couple of days, getting a bit fed up. I went to feed the hens and we have a big oaktree that overhangs the chicken pen, two grey tree rats were enjoying a go at the hen food, so I sneaked back to the house and got the puff gun ( air rifle ) out. walked slowly up the hedge to about 35yds and popped one in the chest, it fell on the ground and I realised that I had dropped the spare pellet. This is really hard work sneaked back got a couple more and again went along the hedge line. Big balls w( the male) was still flicking his tail in the tree ( probably thought that she had fainted and fell on the ground at the sight of his equipment ). Anyway he peeped round the branch to see what was going on and caught a 18gr in the napper, did a marvellous backwards somersault and landed on the other side of the fence ( nice present of a squirrel tail for the neighbour), fed the hens and retired for a celebratory brew .
