Posting or carrying magazines from the US

I'm after bottom metal and a couple of mags and know someone in the US that has a couple spare. Can they post them to me?

I understand that business can't without an export license but this is not business related.

 

Second question is could these items be carry over by plane in your luggage legally?

 

Anyone had experience with this or can point me in the direction of solid info?

A friend of mine is a flight attendant for BA. I asked him before last Christmas if he could bring some tikka mags back from US. He checked with customs on both sides and each assured him that it was fine so he did :-)

That could be handy as my mate girlfriend is a flight attendant for BA too. Had thought It my be a big ask but sounds promising.

Was it in hand luggage?

I don't know if it was hand luggage or hold.

We had them sent by US mail to the BA staff hotel in NY so had to wait for him to get rostered to NY.
