Hally
Just picked up my sons first fclass rifle a Neilson 600 in 223 and 308 l am very pleased with the accuracy that it is getting from 80gr Amax. Out of a 30' barrel with a 1 in 6.8 twist it is developing 3100 fps using 80gr Amax. l had forgotten just howe good this little cartridge is. Hally
This is a 4 shot string he fired when he were sighting it in we sighted it in at 50m because it was 43deg so stayed close to the shade and we have the elevations from there but not to bad for a 12yo
Laurie
Great result! I'm rather fond of .223R with 80-90s too. I've never seen a Neilson in the UK, but we occasionally see articles written about them.
mildot
Blimey what load are you running to get 3100fps with the 80grs???
Hally
Depending what temp it is if its a very hot day we have to drop it back a little. The load development was done by the previous owner who is one of Victorias top Fclass shooters. We load 25. Something of AR 2208 A HOT LOAD as mentioned depending on the temp. But there are a few Fclass shooters with the very tight twist barrels dont know if that helps 1in 6.8 that are getting that speed.
