Swamp Donkey
Yesterday I was on the farm checking zero and trying a few loads, took five shots with 75gr vmax, yep, happy. Then loaded some 90gr softpoints, took a shot, and my scope picture went all 'fuzzy', the target looked like 'blurry double vision' when the reticule was in focus, and to get it sharp again I needed to move my eye over almost to the point of having no view at all, almost seemed like a lens had twisted out of line. The scope is a meopta 6x42 which has been on a .308 running 175's so it can't be due to the slightly higher recoil of the 90's over the 75's on the 243, and this morning it all seems fine again,it's holding zero fine. would this be due to taking the rifle from a toasty warm car out into the cold ? Maybe a bit of a mirage starting early due to the low ambient temp ? It didn't look like the usual mirage from moddy heat, and I've never had any effect after only 6 shots before either. Any ideas ? Cheers Pete
