JWEM
Hi, I'm new to the forum and was hoping that someone could help me with some information regarding Lothar Walther Ultralight (aluminium sleeve) barrels. I'm looking to have my .308 re-barrelled and chambered in 7mm-08. As it is used for practical rifle type shooting it needs to be handy enough to shoot standing, sitting and kneeling but also consistent enough to hold a MOA or under at 1000 yards with a high round count in a fairly short space of time (22 rounds in about 5min). So does anyone know: 1. Are they any good? 2. Which rifle smiths have experience with the ultralight barrels? 3. Would this barrel be suitable for the intended application? 4. What kind of weight would a 24 inch barrel be? Any help would be much appreciated. John
