one for the riflesmiths, would it be possible to make a new or modify an existing r93 barrel to create a separate reciever with a screw in custom barrel.

 

as in the picture below, 5th barrel down.

you would need a strong lathe and sharp cutting tool i think as the steel is very hard.

 

if anyone is up for the challenge i might have a spare barrel i was willing to sacrifice as an engineering model or doner to be chopped, drilled out and threaded (or whatever the correct terms are??)

 

have you the skills and desire, and have i got the nereve to fire it?

 

doner barrel is .243 and maybe thinking of a .243 AI or 6.5x47.

 

think lots of people would be up for it if it were available in the uk??
