Tony.H
it could alter, as putting a mod on it alters the harmonics of the barrel..... tony
tackb
Extremely unlikely , if anything it's likely to improve!
Wapinschaw
As pointed out by Tony, the weight of the moderator will change the barrel harmonics and the point of impact from the previous zero. Re-zero it with the moderator and you should be OK. My .243 Tikka 595 changes impact point by about 8" at 100 yards with the moderator on/off but group sizes don't change. It's well known that the weight of the moderator alters the barrel harmonics but apart from the centre of gravity effect, I think that there may also be an additional effect caused by reflex type moderators in contact with the barrel. Does anyone know what effect this may have?
