JonC
I am on the verge of buying a Steyr SSG-04 in .308/7.62 thats been lightly used on the range. I have the option of with and without scope. The scope in question is a Lupold LRT 6.5-20x50, and adds £350 to the cost of the rifle. Has anybody got an oppinion on this scope, and do you think I can pickup a better set of optics for around the same money (new or used). The main use of the setup is 600+ m target bashing, but I hope to get the chance to go stalking at some point. Cheers Jon
Foxshooter
Buy the scope At £350 you will have no problem recovering your costs or even making a profit on it if you dont like it. If it has the side parallax rather then the AO buy it Mark
Gunsgobang88
Hi, Go for it! At £350 it's a snip. I would be suprised if you could find anything approaching that quality at the same price, Alan
JonC
Cheers for the replies. Going ahead and getting the scope and rifle. Hopefully I will get on with the combo, if not I can px the rifle or scope and upgrade / change. Going to try and get on the f-class course in Feb to see how I like that. If it floats my boat will probably end up changing rifle sooner rather than later.
