Chris Jennings is probably better qualified than most journalists as he served in the para TA and the French Foreign Legion. If I remember correctly he wrote a book of his experiences called 'Mouthful of Rocks'. He also wrote one of the more intelligent books on the British Special Forces called 'Midnight in some Burning Town'.
