kip270
Well after yesterday's weather, i thought as it was dry i would have a few hours out after work. I finished work at 6am and got home changed, grabbed the .222 and was up the farm by 6.50am All the maize has been cut so i was looking for Foxes mainly (but any vermin was on the list ) Standing in the small wood i waited but there were no sign's of fox, so i thought i would head off on the other side of the farm, just then a load of crows landed in the field, so i got down, attached my bi-pod and scanned with my bins for a safe shot. I spotted one at 234 yards, so i aimed a little bit high and squeezed off my shot, "Thwack" i could see the bullet strike and feather's fly, one Crow to the .222 I picked it up and headed back the way i came when i spotted a squirrel 70 yards away, so i set up on y Varmint sticks and waited for the squirrel to stop, as soon as it did i squeezed off my shot "Thwack", one squirrel in the bag. Didn't see any foxes at all

Guest 308Panther
Took the .17 out yesterday afternoon. Only worked a 1/2 day as there was no work. Went down to the closest public huntin grounds...Didnt see a thing. Except doves....I was thinking of grabbing the Bennelli instead of the .17HMR as I walked out the door but reached for the rifle anyway. There was a tree that had a nice flock of them....stopped counting after 20 doves. Shook my head and just kept walkin on to the hardwoods..... Sat for an hour...not a chatter or tail flicking anywhere. Shoulda grabbed the 12 ga... 308Panther
Guest varmartin
Just one of them days, next time go dove hunting, but take the 17 and you may see a tree full of squirrels Martin
Guest 308Panther
Naw,.....lesson learned. Grab the 12 ga and I can shoot either/or.... Make more noise....harder shoulder thump. More burned powder smell..... And I can shoot faster too.... Only drawback is the 3 shot limiter plug.... 12 ga Double Taps lots of fun.... 15 bird limit on doves....Dont know anyone that has limited out on dove. 308Panther
