oaken Posted April 19, 2011 Report Share Posted April 19, 2011 I used to use the 168s when Foxy was able to sell them at a reasonable price, I have now switched to the new palma Sierra which seems to be a real performer in my 308s, so maybe Berger actually did me a favour by pricing themselves out of the market. They are very good bullets but not THAT good! Anyway, I found a good load with the 168s using 43.5gr varget in 1:12 30" @ 2850fps. I started with a very accurate load of 41.3 varget (2700) but found it was getting blown all over the place at 1000yds but it was, however, supr accurate on a still day and at shorter ranges. The chap I sold my last few boxes of 168s to stokes them right up with 46gr varget to around 3000fps. He gets very good results but his brass is scrap in no time.
